Welcome

Thank you for visiting historic Hedges Chapel online.  Our website highlights worship, fellowship, and service opportunities as well as ways that Chapel facilities can be used by community members.  We hope you will visit us in person now that the chapel is open for services once again.  We await the opportunity to greet you and share with you our love for Jesus Christ and for you, our neighbor.

Our Mission

The mission of Hedges Chapel, an interdenominational congregation called together by God's love in Jesus Christ, is to share God's message through worship and study, to nurture one another in prayer and fellowship, and to minister to community needs through service and outreach.

The Latest:

During the week of Easter, we will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 pm led by Reverend Nancy Page, and an Easter Sunrise service, led by Reverend Glenn Young at 6:30 am in addition to our regular Sunday service at 11 am led by Reverend Marion Phillips.  More details are forthcoming.

Palm Sunday will end our Easter Food Basket collection of food for eight families (49 individuals) in need.  The food items sought for our "baskets" are also available here.  We hope you will consider sharing your blessings with these families again this Easter.

The Building and Grounds Committee  scheduled several work days to spruce up the chapel and  grounds. See photos in the News section

A Winter Bible Study, A Conversation with the Book of Revelation, began on January 31st,  led by Reverend Penny Gladwell. It is open to all Hedges Chapel worshippers and members of the community. More information here.

Our schedule of speakers for the first quarter of 2023 is available on the Services page

All are invited to the fellowship hour following each Sunday service.

Do you have need of a pastor?  The Pastoral Care Ministry Team provides for the pastoral needs of not only members of Hedges Chapel but the surrounding community as well.  One of the Chapel's pastors will always be on call.  More information here

If you would like to receive occasional email notifications of our activities and events, please send an email to:  hedgeschapelcouncil@gmail.com to be placed on our non-member distribution list. Typical messages are for events important to the Woods community and for disaster relief efforts. We promise not to overload your in-box.

The Council of Hedges Chapel continues to monitor health related concerns regarding the COVID virus and its variants. Masks are no longer mandated in the Chapel. If not vaccinated, or if you prefer to maintain greater social distancing, you may use the adjacent Fellowship Hall which is equipped with an effective audio system. Bibles and Hymnals are available there as well. The use of masks is strongly suggested in the Fellowship Hall.  We wish everyone to feel comfortable and welcome while practicing familiar safety protocols.

Since our site is getting filled with lots of good information, we've added a site search function so details are easier to find.  It's located at the top of each page.  Like any search engine, it's not perfect but it will get you started.
